Macau Odds

Sic Bo is a game played with three dice, in which the player bets on the throw of the dice. The term sic bo literally means dice pair in Chinese. This type of game is very popular in Macau, and some gambling experts believe that baccarat is the only other casino game that eases it in popularity. 

Sic bo is not a card game and it actually uses three dice, and a table that has a variety of betting options with each roll of the dice. Different places and spaces have different odds and table layout. But whether it is in Atlantic City or Macau, the payoffs are the same for sic bo.

In sic bo, three dice are shaken inside a basket or a plastic cup. In Asia, the dice were traditionally shaken on a plate covered with bowl. The bowl is lifted to reveal the dice combinations.

In modern brick-and-mortar casinos, the dice are still shaken mechanically, but the outcome is typed into a computer, which automatically lights up the winning combinations on the table.

A player can make multiple bets on a Sic Bo table. The outcomes of a game are based entirely on the combinations face up on the dice. Payoff combinations are listed on tabletop, roulette-style. Areas on the table are lit from underneath to reflect the winning combinations.
There is a list of bets of available to players, and the payoffs vary from casino to casino. 

Below are the winning combinations

• Big, Small: Total of dice is 3 to 10, or 11 to 18, respectively. Both bets will lose if any three of a kind is thrown. Wins pay 1 to 1.
• Odd, Even: Total of dice is odd or even. Both bets will lose if any three of a kind is thrown. Wins pay 1 to 1.
• Individual totals: There are 14 bets available, for every total from 4 to 17. Following is what each bet pays.
  • 4 and 17: 50 to 1
  • 5 and 16: 18 to 1
  • 6 and 15: 14 to 1
  • 7 and 14: 12 to 1
  • 8 and 13: 8 to 1
  • 9, 10, 11 ,and 12: 6 to 1
• Triple: Six bets are available on each three of a kind (111 to 666). Each pays 150 to 1
• Any triple: Wins if any triple is rolled. Pays 24 to 1
• Double: Six bets are available (1 to 6). Each wins if at least two of the chosen number is rolled. Wins pay 8 to 1
• Two die combinations: Fifteen bets are available, one for each way to pick two numbers out of six (1&2 to 5&6). Each bet wins if both numbers appear in the next roll. For example a bet on 2&5 would win on a rolls of 125, 225, 235, 245, 255, and 256. Wins pay 5 to 1.
• Any number: Six bets are available (1 to 6). If exactly one of the chosen number is rolled the bet pays 1 to 1, for two dice match wins pay 2 to 1, and all three dice match pays 3 to 1.
